Chunyuan Diao is among 15 professors within the College of LAS to receive a named scholar and professorship position for the upcoming academic year, in recognition of  outstanding contributions to research and education at the University of Illinois.

Diao has been named the I.C. Gunsalus Scholar, which recognizes young faculty members for their scholarship and teaching in physical and life sciences. Recipients hold the title for one academic year and receive support for their research and teaching. 

Diao recently spoke with College of LAS News about her research in remote sensing, crop growth, and climate change.
