Dr. Eric Shook has been elected to a 3-year term as Director of the University Consortium for Geographic Information Science (UCGIS) during its annual symposium this month. UCGIS is a non-profit dedicated to GIS research and community engagement in higher education.

Shook currently serves as associate professor in the University of Minnesota Department of Geography, Environment & Society, teaching courses in GIS, geospatial computing, and cyberGIS. He completed his MS and PhD with advisor Dr. Shaowen Wang.
