Fikriyah Winata (advisor: Sara McLafferty) attended this week's GeoHealth Network Conference at the University of Toronto, where she moderated an Environmental Health panel and presented her research: Community Health Center: A Place Where Poor People Can Access Health Care. Fik enjoyed the opportunity to network with Canadian health geography researchers from the University of Toronto, McGill, Queen’s, and Western University.

She also met several Illinois Geography alumni at the conference, including University of Toronto assistant professor Dr. Michael Widener (BA, 2007) and Dr. Sara Metcalf (PhD, 2007; advisor: Bruce Hannon). Dr. Metcalf is an associate professor of geography at SUNY Buffalo, and gave the GeoHealth Conference closing keynote.
