The departments of Geography & GIS and Computer Science are thrilled to announce CS+Geography & GIS, a new interdisciplinary Bachelor of Science Degree offered by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS)!
Geographers are always exploring new ways to understand the processes that shape our physical, social, and economic landscapes. Location-aware devices combine with geospatial technologies to generate massive amounts of place-based data, which contain high-resolution and continuous space-time information, such as spatial patterns of people moving through a city. We also gather and analyze GIS data to plan smarter transportation and energy systems, increase crop yields, and contain influenza outbreaks.
CS+GIS students will combine social, physical, and computer sciences to investigate spatial processes and solve community, national, and global-scale geographic problems.
