Dr. Imelda Moise is Associate Professor of Medical Education and Director of the Global Health and Graduate Program at Nova Southern University in Florida. She visited the department in October 2025 to accept her award and present Geographies of Health and Hope: Reflections on a Career Rooted in Place, Purpose, and Possibility at Friday Colloquium.
Imelda completed her master's thesis Applications of geospatial Analysis to Surveiallnce Data: A Spatial Look at HIV/AIDS Prevelence in Zambia with Professor Ezekiel Kalipeni and continued in our PhD program. Her dissertation is entitled Health risk differentials: implications of neighborhood conditions on various health outcomes in New Orleans, 2004-2009.
