Our newest alumni begin careers and continue their studies

Congratulations to all of our Fall 2020, Spring 2021, and Summer 2021 bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree earners. Several graduates will move on to other universities as graduate students and postdoctoral researchers and others are beginning their careers in the geospatial industry.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Aída Guhlincozzi (MA, 2018; PhD, 2021) will be joining University of Missouri's Women and Gender Studies and Geography departments as a Preparing Future Faculty Postdoctoral Scholar.

Junghwan Kim (MUP, 2018; PhD, 2021) started this May as a postdoctoral fellow at the Harvard University Center for Geographic Analysis.

Dong Liu (MS, 2020; PhD, 2021) has accepted a Postdoctoral Associate position in the Human Environments Analysis Laboratory & Department of Geography and Environment at Western University (i.e., University of Western Ontario) in Canada.

Rea Zaimi (MA, 2016; PhD, 2020) began this spring as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Georgia State University Urban Studies Institute.

 

Master of Science (MS)

Weiye Chen (MS, 2021) will begin his PhD studies at the University of Maryland Department of Geographical Sciences this fall.

Sadia Sabrina (MS, 2020) began this spring as an Ecologist GIS contractor with the U.S. Geological Survey's Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center.

Bin Su (MS, 2020) started this year as a data scientist with Kuaishou, a popular video platform in China.

 

Master of Science, Professional Science Master's in GIS (MS)

Renke Ji (MS, 2021) will pursue a PhD at Wuhan University in China.

Yerrasyl Koshan (MS, 2020) began a PhD program in geography at Purdue University this January.

Michael Li (MS, 2020) was a 2020 geospatial intern and began working as a Geospatial Data Specialist with bp earlier this year.

Ethan Liang (MS, 2021) began this April as a GIS Coordinator with the Mississippi State University Department of Geosciences.

Sijia Wang (MS, 2021) will begin the Master of Urban Planning program at The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill this fall.

Xu Zhang (MS, 2021) completed his PSM summer internship will Motorola Solutions and will begin his career there as a software developer.
