Geographic Information Science, or GIS, is a vital component of fields as diverse as health care, real estate, ecology, and earth sciences. Our certificate in GIS offers you the opportunity to gain specific skills transferable to many different kinds of employment, and understand the geographic principles behind the analyses you're conducting.

You will be presented with an official certificate upon satisfactory completion of the required courses. While this certificate will not appear on your transcript, you will be able to use this credential on a resume or application for advanced study. The Geography & GIScience undergraduate advisor will track your progress through an internal database once you have registered for the certificate, as well as advise you on course selection. However, you should also keep track of your own progress, and inform the GGIS undergraduate advisor when you believe all requirements have been met. Please contact with any questions.
